Enrollment Office β pick your role: Captain (steers the ship), Cannoner (fires the guns) or Navigator (sits in the crow's nest and sees farther than anyone).
The Tavern β captains found a crew here: name it and choose whether it's listed on the enlistment board or joinable only with its secret code. Mates join with the code.
Enlistment Board β browse crews that are recruiting and join with one click (you need a role first).
A crew holds 4 pirates: 1 captain, 2 cannoners and 1 navigator. You can also sail solo as a captain.
π Setting sail
The captain goes to the dock and calls the crew to sail. Everyone gets the signal, walks to the dock, and once the whole crew is there the ship casts off β all together.
Check the crew box at the top of the screen to see who you're sailing with.
β΅ At sea
Captain:W/S set sails, A/D rudder. Sailing alone? Q/E fire the port/starboard guns.
Cannoner:A/D pick a broadside, SPACE fire, W/S raise or lower the guns to arc your shots farther or shorter.
Navigator: you ride in the crow's nest β your lookout extends everyone's practical reach since you spot ships and land long before they do.
M opens the full sea chart; the minimap is always in the corner.
π₯ Combat
Broadsides fire several balls with real arcs β lead your target and mind the range.
Hits damage the hull; under 40% your ship burns and slows. At 0% it sinks and the crew washes ashore in Tortuga (with a cooldown before sailing again).
Sinking an enemy earns your ship points. Waters near a port are a safe zone β no firing there.

Sail close to any port and the captain gets a Return to port button β it docks the whole crew together, back at the harbor docks.
